I hope you all had a great weekend! We had gorgeous weather all weekend and spent most of it outside!
Saturday morning Redmond had his first T-Ball game! I'll be honest, he is not a fan of t-ball. In fact, one might say he hates t-ball. But, we explained to him that once we start something, we finish it. He has a whole team depending on him and if he doesn't want to play again next year that's fine. He sucked it up and did great. For not really liking it, he sure seemed to have a lot of fun!
Go #5!!!!
It
was a good weekend for the chickens too. They were finally able to get
outside again. Saturday we let them roam around our yard for awhile.
And
then on Sunday, we let them loose in the garden. We thought for sure they
would love the huge, tilled part of the garden. Yeah, not so much!
Why
dig and peck for bugs and worms here.....
.....when
you can do it all huddled together here....
Silly
birds.
Speaking
of chickens, Jason made major progress on the coop this weekend too. It
should be done by the end of the week. Can't wait to get the chickens
moved in there! Here are a few pictures of the progress so far:
He got the OSB off the walls, switched out the window so that it opened from the
outside, uncovered the chicken door that had been covered up by the
OSB and started making an additional door. More to come on the coop
soon!
Another
awesome project Jason worked on this weekend was our new compost
bin/area. I'm soooooo excited about this! With as much
produce as we eat, this is going to be fan-freaking-tastic! I've already
taken two large bowls of waste from today and dumped them. What a great
feeling knowing that our waste will end up feeding our garden! I'll
have full post on the compost bin once it's complete.
I think spring is here to stay, y'all!!
~ Sara :)
