Hi everyone!!! Welcome to the first edition of The Monthly Meet Up!
Along with my co-host Marie at Family and the Lake House, we will be hosting a blog party on the first Thursday of every month. Our party will last the entire month and we encourage you to post as many times as you'd like! Each month will have a different theme - starting with Mother's Day. Any and all things Mother's Day related are welcomed - recipes, gifts, activities, crafts, etc, etc.
Not only do we want this to be a great opportunity for you to gain some awesome, creative ideas from other bloggers, but we also want this to be a great networking tool as well. So please, grab a cup of coffee, tea, water, vodka (we won't judge) or whatever you fancy and party with us. It will be fun!!
First thing is first. Just like anything fun, we've gotta have some rules. Ours are short and sweet:
- Follow us! We'd love to connect with you, and you to connect with each other!
- We challenge you - visit, comment and follow at least four other partiers. Are you up for the challenge?
- By posting, you give us permission to feature an image or post on our blog(s). We'll always give you credit and post links back, don't you worry!
Now, this isn't going to be a typical Mother's Day post. I don't have any fun crafts, recipes, tricks, etc. But, it's something that I've just started doing for myself and, well, I'm a mom and that's kind of why I started doing it.
I know I'm way late jumping on this bandwagon, but I finally got myself a planner. Yes, this would have been more beneficial if I had started it when Redmond started school instead of a month before it ends, but whatever :)
I don't know about any other moms, but I am the one who holds all responsibility for knowing when/where/and what time any and everything is going on with or for our family. I do a good job with keeping it in my head.....mostly....but with Redmond starting t-ball and having end of the year field trips and special events, I figured I should probably start writing things down.
So, I did what any other person does when they want to buy something and headed to Target. I found a cute planner for $7.
Just having all t-ball games and other activities written down for the month makes me feel slightly more at ease.
My plan is to start sitting down weekly and writing everything out for each day - dinner menu, phone calls that need to be made, appointments, certain things that need done, etc. Baby steps, baby steps.
What kind of plans do you have for Mother's Day? Any cool crafts or ideas you'd like to share? Maybe a favorite recipe? Please link up with us - we'd love to party with you!!
