The Monthly Meet Up

Happy November, everyone!!!

It's a new month, and you know what that means - it's time for the Monthly Meet Up, y'all!!

My girl Marie , over at Family and the Lakehouse, and I get together every month to host a fun link-up party.  We want to know - what are your goals for the month of November?  Big, small, it doesn't matter.  Your goals could be any and everything.  Maybe you want to cut out fast food, keep a clean kitchen, exercise more, not go shopping, organize your pantry, etc.  The possibilities are endless!

You can be as ambitious as you like - maybe you only have one goal for the month, maybe you have 10.  Just join us and have fun!

Not only do we want this to be a great opportunity for you to gain some awesome, creative ideas from other bloggers, but we also want this to be a great networking tool as well.  So please, grab a cup of coffee, tea, water, vodka (we won't judge) or whatever you fancy and party with us.  It will be fun!!

First thing is first.  Just like anything fun, we've gotta have some rules.  Ours are short and sweet:
  • Link back to us - copy and paste our linky button on your post - we want your friends to join in the fun too!
  • Follow us!  We'd love to connect with you, and you to connect with each other!
  • We challenge you - visit, comment and follow at least four other partiers.  Are you up for the challenge?
  • By posting, you give us permission to feature an image or post on our blog(s).  We'll always give you credit and post links back, don't you worry!
Easy enough, right!?  So, grab our button, link up, and par-tay!!!

First, let's recap my goals from last month, shall we?

1. The Playroom - We've been at a bit of a standstill and, I'm starting to go slightly insane from all the crap all over my house.  We have received the check from our insurance company and are slowly moving forward.  Very slowly....  BUT!  It has been painted!  We wanted something bright and cheery.  What's more bright and cheery than yellow and white!?

2.  Cleaning Schedule - I started out strong on this one....then sickness/monthly mayhem ensued (see #4).  I've definitely been making an effort to try and keep the house a bit more picked up.  Even if I'm not following my schedule exactly.  My fridge and oven did get a much deserved scrub-a-dub.  Here are a few before/afters:

(and yes, we really like butter in this house....)

3.  Find the Video Camera - YES!  I found it and have been putting it to use.  It's hilarious!  And, the kids love watching the videos that were already on it.

4.  Clean Eating and Exercise - for the most part, I've done well here.  I did fall off the wagon for week-ish.  I should have had better control, but that monthly bitch made an appearance at the same time I had two sick kids at home.  But, I've been back in full swing the past two weeks.  I've got a gorgeous dress to wear in the beginning of December and I want to rock it!

5.  Post 5 New Recipes - Boo-ya!  I've been a cooking machine lately....Fall tends to do that to me.  I've posted 7 new recipes on The Carnitarian Family since the beginning of October - Taco Seasoning, Refried Beans, Swiss Steak, Baked Brie, Drop Biscuits, Pierogis and Hot Pepper Jelly

Phew!  Now that that's out of the way, let's move on to my goals for November!  November is a super busy month for us, so I'm taking it easy with just four little goals:

[one]

Operation: Red Dress
We're attending a charity ball *twirl* (because that's what you do at a ball, duh.) the beginning of December and I have a lovely red dress.  I love it and, although it fits, it could fit better.  So, I need to be conscious of what I eat and stay focused.  Especially with Redmond's birthday (mmmm.....cake....) and Thanksgiving (mmmm.....potatoes....pie....bread....) coming up.

I would love to lose 5lbs this month.  Even though, you know, the scale ain't nothin' but a number....

[two]

Closets
Our closets (especially the kids') are out.of.control.  Poor Ashlyn's closet is full of clothes that the kids have out grown.  Every time the kids out grow an article of clothing, I literally just throw it in her closet.  Literally throw it.  It's a hot mess.  Like, an inferno disaster.

[three]

Downstairs
No.  For real this time.
We are hoping that the entire downstairs will be finished by Thanksgiving.  I'd like to come up with some new storage solutions for toys too.  I would loooooove for everything to have a place.

[four]

Name Change.  Maybe.
I've been debating back and forth for awhile now on changing the name of my blog.  Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the name I have now - which is why it's a hard decision.  What to do, what to do....

And that's that!  Four goals, one month.  Totally doable, right!?

So, what about you?  What are some goals you're setting for yourself for the month?  Link up and share them with us!  We'd love for you to join in!!

~ Sara :)
