The Monthly Meet Up - Back To School!

Hey everyone!  It's the first Thursday of the month, that means it's time for the Monthly Meet Up!!

It's September!  That means one thing for all you parents out there - Back to School!!  Please join my co-host Marie and myself and post about any and all things Back to School!!  You can come back and post all month long -photos, outfits, recipes, crafts, activities, gifts, etc.

Not only do we want this to be a great opportunity for you to gain some awesome, creative ideas from other bloggers, but we also want this to be a great networking tool as well.  So please, grab a cup of coffee, tea, water, vodka (we won't judge) or whatever you fancy and party with us.  It will be fun!!

First thing is first.  Just like anything fun, we've gotta have some rules.  Ours are short and sweet:
  • Link back to us - copy and paste our linky button on your post - we want your friends to join in the fun too!
  • Follow us!  We'd love to connect with you, and you to connect with each other!
  • We challenge you - visit, comment and follow at least four other partiers.  Are you up for the challenge?
  • By posting, you give us permission to feature an image or post on our blog(s).  We'll always give you credit and post links back, don't you worry!
Easy enough, right!?  So, grab our button, link up, and par-tay!!!

All I've heard all summer is "How much longer until I go back to school?"

Here in Michigan, most schools don't start until the day after Labor Day.  Redmond's school doesn't start until the week after Labor Day.  So, we've still got about a week and a half left before he starts!

The summer has been great, but I'm looking forward to getting back into the school routine.  I can't wait to hear all about Redmond's first day!

I'm using the Back to School season as a reason to jumpstart organizing my house and keeping somewhat of a cleaning schedule.  I really don't know how you people do it.  You know, those people whose house you walk into and it's always super clean.  Nothing on the counters, no dishes in the sink, blankets thrown on the living room floor, and even toys are put away.  How do you do it?

You know who you are....

Anyhoo.....

So, first step is to make use of my Memory Station that I created around this time last year.  We use it a little bit, but this is the best way to keep track of all of R's school happenings.

(You can check out my DIY Monogrammed Key Holder here.)

Can I get a 'Hell Yeah'!?

I came across that quote years ago and it's always stuck with me.  Because it's so true!

I don't know about you, but housework seems soooo overwhelming to me!  If I start cleaning/picking up one area, I see something else that needs done and move on to that.  Before I know it, I'm sitting on the couch playing Soda Crush with a cup of coffee.....I'm not quite sure how that happens....

So, I'm hoping that if I have a written schedule I'll be able to keep a semi picked up house.  Hey, we all can dream, right????

I have it broken down by day, with daily, weekly and monthly chores.

A few other things I would like to tackle and complete this month is to get the playroom purged, try to sell all of the clothes the kids have outgrown and organize the guest room/my craft area.

Phew!

And that, my friends, is how I'm celebrating Back to School!  How about you?  Please share any and all things Back to School that is happening in your home!

Until next time,

~ Sara :)

    1. Poor Ashlyn can barely get into her closet because anytime her or R out grow anything, I (literally) throw it in there! Time to get to work!

I can't believe school hasn't started yet! We started on September 1st, which was about a week late for where we live!
