Valentine's Day

I don't care that Valentine's Day is a "Hallmark Holiday". I love it. Especially now that I have kids. It gives me an excuse to do fun crafts, buy the kids little gifts and make treats for their friends. We did a few different crafty things this year:

First, Redmond and I made Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins to give to his little friends at the library.  I had a heart-shaped muffin tin I really wanted to use and I thought muffins would help balance out all of the Valentines Day chocolate.  I even made cute little labels!  I'm so crafty!

Then it was time to get crafty! Redmond's handprint traced in glitter and Ashlyn's footprint in red paint. We made one for us and one for Jason's parents. The hand and footprints are supposed to look like hearts. Oh well.
"From the palms of our hands to the tips of our toes, we love you!"
We also made homemade handprint cards. When you open them up, they make a heart....

Redmond made a heart shaped card for daddy....

Jason got me some gorgeous flowers!

And I made this for Jason:

It's on his night stand and I will periodically leave him little messages on it.  Everyone needs to know how much they're loved and appreciated from time to time!

For the grand finale, we shipped the kids off to grandma and grandpas and had a nice, romantic night at home. Full of red wine, Beef and Portabella Wellingtons, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne :). Can't wait for next year!
