What a week we've been having! It's been busy, busy but we've been having so much fun! Who needs sleep, right!?
[One]
My sister is here visiting! Yay!!! Her and her kids are staying on a lake close to our house so we've been spending lots of time in the water and hanging out with them. There's been a lot of this going on this week:
[Two]
Our bedroom demo took a huge step forward. Jason and I carried our new Jacuzzi tub into the house from the garage where it had been living for the past 5 months. He has started framing in the walls that will soon be our master bath and closet. So exciting!!
[Three]
Eggs! We got our first egg last week, and since have gotten one or two eggs every day since. Can't wait until all of the chickens are laying and I don't have to buy eggs anymore!
[Four]
We took a little road trip to Shipshewana with my mom, sister, nieces and nephew on Tuesday. The first stop was an Amish bakery so we could all load up on donuts and cinnamon rolls before we walked around the flea market for hours. The kids realllllllly enjoyed them!
[Five]
Our county fair is happening this week and the kids couldn't wait to go. We headed there the same day that we went to Shipshewana and, in hindsight, that may have been a little too much activity for them in one day :) All Redmond wanted to do was ride some rides.....until it came time to ride those rides. Then he wanted nothing to do with it. Ashlyn was all about riding the rides.....until someone she didn't know tried to buckle her in to keep her from falling out.
*sigh*
But, Redmond found a fun house he did a couple times and I went on the Carousel with Ashlyn. We all shared some fair fries and got to watch a cow get milked (Ashlyn's most favorite part by far). I oohed and aahed over all the goats.....maybe one day....
So, there's a tidbit of our week so far. We have one more full day with my sister and her family and then they're headed back home to Virginia. Here's to another great week!

I can't imagine having fresh eggs every day! What a great treat! Lake photo looks like so much fun. That pretty much sums up the summer I wish I had lol!

We're loving our fresh eggs!! So glad we got chickens when we did :). Spending a week on the lake definitely gave the hubs and I the itch to maybe find a small cottage somewhere for a little getaway :)

ReplyDeleteA jacuzzi tub was one of my top 'must haves' when we were house hunting last year. Since this house didn't have one, I made hubby promise me I could still get one :). Maybe your hubby will change his mind about chickens as the egg prices keep rising? ;). They are more fun than I ever thought they would be!
